For Instagram, targeting options available on Facebook are also available on Instagram. That’s because since 2012 Instagram is also a part of the Facebook family. So now Instagram Ads has the same various options as Facebook.

Targeting options include age, gender, location, interests, actions, and more – but you don’t have to use all of them. The only options that are required are location, age, and gender. Using the other targeting options will let’s you further specify the people that will see you ads. Just keep in mind your audience’s interests, wants, and needs, and your ads will turn out fine.

You can also target your Instagram ads to a custom audience or lookalike audience.
