A Quick Tour of TikTok Analytics in Sotrender

Sotrender’s TikTok analytics is broken down into three clear sections:

  • Audience
  • Reach & Engagement
  • Content

You’ll also find a Profile overview, where we showcase your top metrics in one place. From there, you can dive deeper into any data by clicking on a chart – all of which are interactive.

Here’s what TikTok analytics looks like in Sotrender, in detail.

Audience Section

The first set of data available for your exploration focuses on your audience – the people following your profile.

Two key metrics you can analyze are:

  • Number of followers
    • Historical daily data for the selected period
    • Current follower count
    • The day with the highest number of new followers in the selected period
  • Followers growth
    • Historical daily growth for the selected period
    • Total follower increase in the selected timeframe
    • Average daily follower growth over the selected period

Important
When you add a new profile to our app, you’ll be able to analyze data going back up to 60 days. This is due to limitations imposed by TikTok’s API.
Once the profile is connected, your data will start collecting regularly – the amount of historical data you’ll be able to analyze later depends on your plan. In the highest-tier plans, that can mean access to data from up to 2 years back (or more).

You can also check when – on which days and at what times – your followers are most active on TikTok.

You’ll find this insight in the Online followers chart.

Analyzing this data is especially helpful if your followers are located in different parts of the world and you want to find the most optimal time to reach them.

Even if you’re only operating in one country, like Poland, this metric will help you better understand your audience’s behavior and activity on the platform. There can be major differences in when and how intensely people use TikTok – for example, they may be much more active on weekends than weekdays, or in the evenings rather than in the mornings. Since most TikTok content has a short shelf life, it’s crucial to time your posts just right.

It’s also worth digging into follower demographics to understand who’s actually following your profile – and adjust your content accordingly.

In Sotrender, you can check:

  • The gender of your followers (men/women)
  • Their age (grouped into: 18–24, 25–34, 35–44, 45–54, 55+)
  • The countries and cities your followers are from

How to use demographics analytics in practice?

  1. To verify whether the audience you’re trying to reach is actually following you (for example, they might be much younger than you expected).
  2. To tailor your content and tone of voice to your audience’s age and preferences.
  3. To adjust your language based on your followers’ countries of origin – like switching from Polish to English or producing more bilingual content.
  4. To tweak your strategy if the people who start following you aren’t actually your intended target group.

Reach & Engagement Section

This is where you’ll get a deeper look at how your profile performed during a selected time period and how users interacted with your content.

One of the first sets of metrics available here are views – both profile views and total video views.

When you click on a specific chart, you’ll not only see the daily chart (showing the number of profile views or video views), but also:

  • The total number of video views in the selected time period
  • The average number of video views during the selected time period, along with a comparison to the previous equivalent period
  • The total number of profile views in the selected time period
  • The average number of profile views during the selected time period, along with a comparison to the previous equivalent period

Next, you can move on to analyzing data from the User activities section, where you’ll see how and how often your audience interacts with your content.

You’ll start with a chart showing all user activities (likes, comments, shares) on a daily basis for the selected time period, as well as the total number of comments, likes, and shares – along with a comparison to the previous equivalent period.

This gives you insight into how users prefer to engage with your content. The more often they comment or share, the better – it means higher engagement. It’s worth digging into which posts triggered those spikes in activity.

That’s why you can also analyze each metric – likes, comments, and shares – on separate charts.

Notice a spike on the chart? You can click on it to see what was published that day. If there’s a big increase in activity, it’s a good idea to check what was posted a day or two earlier. This is especially useful for viral content, since it tends to keep circulating longer.

Content Section

This section is where you’ll likely find the most insights to improve your content strategy.

It includes a detailed analysis of every video published on your profile.

At the top, you’ll see a list of your six best-performing videos (based on total activity) for the selected time period.

Next, you can sort all your videos using any of the available metrics, including:

  • Views

  • Likes
  • Comments
  • Shares
  • Sum of activities
  • Duration
  • Total time watched
  • Average time watched
  • Full video watched
  • Engagement Rate
  • Unique Engagement Rate
  • Share Rate
  • Unique Share Rate
  • Activity Index

You’ll find explanations for all metrics used in Sotrender in our glossary >>>

This way, you can easily find out which videos had the highest reach, received the most likes, or were watched in full – valuable insights that help you identify the content that generated the most interest and engagement. Based on this data, you’ll refine your strategy and take it to the next level, while also optimizing your workflow by creating only the content that truly matters to your TikTok audience.

How to analyze competitor activity on TikTok?

Unfortunately, TikTok’s API currently doesn’t provide detailed data for profiles you don’t own. But that doesn’t mean competitor analysis is off the table.

Sotrender’s analysts have prepared a special report that lets you uncover insights about your competitors’ TikTok performance – including some paid activity analysis.

With this kind of report, you’ll learn:

  • The total engagement on selected competitor profiles, broken down by activity type and trend analysis
  • Which hashtags were used by selected brands and how often
  • Which competitor videos generated the most engagement or views
  • Whether your competitors promoted any content – and how much of it was paid

What can you gain from this type of analysis?

  • See how your brand compares to the competition
  • Identify the content that resonates most with your target audience, so you can align your strategy with their preferences
  • Get ahead of your competitors by knowing their direction and planning standout campaigns
  • Spot industry trends before they go mainstream

TikTok’s native analytics tools

Just like other social media platforms, TikTok also offers built-in analytics – both in-app and through the web-based TikTok Creator Studio.

In the app, you’ll find the analytics panel in two places:

  • Business Center
  • TikTok Studio (which offers more in-depth data, including insights unavailable via the API – like search queries)

However, it’s important to note: TikTok doesn’t allow for user role management like Meta does, so accessing native analytics typically means sharing account logins and passwords.

If you’ve already logged in on the mobile app, you can access TikTok Creator Studio via QR code.
