To create a YouTube channel, you need a Google Account. Google Accounts don’t come with a channel by default; you have to make one. If you want to upload, comment, or make playlists, you have to create a public channel.

You have 2 ways of making a YouTube channel:

Creating a personal channel with your name

  • Sign in to YouTube.
  • Perform any action which requires a channel, like commenting on a video.
  • If you don’t have a channel you will see a prompt to create one.
  • Fill in the required info with your personal details.

Creating a channel with your business

  • Sign in to YouTube.
  • Then you have to go to All my channels.
  • If you already have a Google+ profile to attach, choose that profile.
  • If you don’t, choose Create a new channel to set up a channel which will have a different name than your Google account name.
  • Fill in the required info with your new channel details.

Both of these ways will create a YouTube channel for you.
