The easiest way of measuring the effects of you ads on Facebook is to check out Adverts Insights in Adverts Manager.

In Ads Manager, follow these steps:

  1. Click ‘All Campaigns’ / ‘All Advert Sets’ / ‘All Adverts’ (depending on which part of the advert you want to analyse).
  2. Click ‘Columns’ and from the menu, choose ‘Customize’.
  3. Select the columns you want to use for measuring (they will differ from each other depending on what advert goal you set up – if it’s clicks to website CPC will count, if it’s engagement, look at reach) and click Apply.
  4. Then, you can export your data to an .xls file and measure the effects.

Also, look at your website or online shop statistics and traffic any coming from social. Data hidden in Google Analytics or the shop panel (growth of sales or traffic) can tell you a lot about your ads performance.

If CPC is cheap and it doesn’t drive sales, or reach is high but it doesn’t reflect your engagement, maybe you should rethink your strategy.
