The barrier that is typically there between a business and consumers doesn\u2019t exist on Instagram. Instagram combines both business and personal content on your feed, so users will feel more comfortable talking to you than they might on LinkedIn, for example. This helps build a relationship with your audience, and it\u2019s this mix of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sotrender.com\/blog\/2019\/02\/how-to-increase-engagement-and-sales-on-instagram-with-personalized-posts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">banter, loyalty, and personalization that drives sales on their platform<\/a>. But do you know how to measure engagement on Instagram on your own? How can you figure out when to upload your posts? One way is through the heatmap. As you can surmise from the name, <\/span><b>the hotter, the better<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. If you\u2019re posting content at 3 AM, it\u2019s no wonder your followers aren\u2019t engaging with your content &#8211; they\u2019re not even awake! Although there are some <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/later.com\/blog\/best-time-to-post-on-instagram\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">general findings on the best posting times<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, that may not be the case with your target audience. Parents have different schedules than students, and those groups have different schedules in comparison to second shift workers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You don\u2019t have to check this metric every time, but it helps significantly to know when you should schedule your posts.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>User activities<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now let\u2019s find out <strong>\u201chow\u201d your followers interact with your content<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open up the <\/span><b>User activities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tab. The first thing you\u2019ll see is a bar graph displaying the types of activities by your users. This graph is organized by date, and the activities are stacked. As you can see from this graph, there are usually more likes than comments or shares. That indicates what type of content is getting people to interact with it. Although it\u2019s good to have a high number of likes, having more comments shows you that there\u2019s a conversation happening under your post.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to <\/span><b>visualize proportionality<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, look at the graph below. You\u2019ll see user activities presented in a pie chart with their respective percent. This should make it easier to see what kind of interactions are the most and least popular among your followers. You would benefit from examining the activities by media type line graph so you can see the progress. Here, you can see the dates, so you\u2019ll know which posts got you the most and least activity. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This graph is also really helpful when you want to generalize. It\u2019s easy to passively like content, but that doesn\u2019t directly influence sales or revenue. It\u2019s indicative of interest and loyalty when your followers leave comments and share your posts in their stories or to other users.
