Mentions are used to <\/span>refer to another Twitter user<\/b> and to <\/span>notify<\/b>\u00a0that you tweeted about them. Mentioning other users on Twitter is a great way to get somebody to <\/span>join a conversation<\/b>, <\/span>share something interesting<\/b> with others or simply, to make a reference to someone involved in a particular topic.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are mentions on Twitter?<\/h2>\n

A mention is a reference in a tweet which contains another profile’s name. This could be placed anywhere in a text. If you want to mention multiple profiles\/usernames in the body text for your tweet,\u00a0you can do that, too. All of these people will be notified about it. Simply, your tweet will appear in their Notifications tab.<\/p>\n

How to add a mention on Twitter?<\/h2>\n

To mention someone, write your tweet like you normally would. Now add the user\u2019s username<\/b> to the tweet with an @<\/b> in front of it. Then publish the tweet, and you\u2019re done. The user<\/b> will be notified<\/b> that you mentioned them. It should look, more or less, like this:<\/p>\n

Remember that <\/span>spaces and punctuation break the mention<\/b>, just like hashtags. So don\u2019t include them in your mention. As mentioned before, include a mention <\/span>anywhere in your tweet\u00a0<\/b>and use as many as you wish to.<\/p>\n
