Facebook still doesn\u2019t have a \u2018dislike\u2019 button, but people still have plenty of ways to tell you they dislike something. They can use comments, hate reactions, or giving you a low star review. And when they do any (or all) these things, you still have to make them happy. Follow these rules, and it will be easy:<\/span><\/p>\n

Rule 1. Do not argue<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Don\u2019t try to argue with any of those people. You will never win if they want to upset you or prove your company untrustworthy. The first thing to do is decide whether the user is just a troll, if he had a bad day, or if your business is actually at fault. If it\u2019s the latter, you have to respond. Otherwise, leave the negativity be. Arguing will do more harm than good.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rule 2. Be Nice<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It can be hard, but it\u2019s a must. Don\u2019t trust your feelings, they will betray you. Some people wait for you to lose your nerves so they can get some attention. Don\u2019t get caught up in their games. Smother them with kindness and good manners, and you\u2019ll come out looking like the better brand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rule 3. Do not offend<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Some negative comments may be caused because you were a bit insensitive. For example, \u00a0by posting something that negatively frames someone, or maybe by overgeneralizing an issue. It\u2019s okay, it happens sometimes. In these cases, you have to apologize and make sure to remove the offensive content. <\/span><\/p>\n

Rule 4. You can\u2019t answer every comment<\/strong><\/h2>\n

You simply can\u2019t. There\u2019s often too many, and some that are pointless to respond to. Troll comments and people tagging their friends for example. Of course, your response rate is important, but there isn\u2019t any point in responding to everyone who comments with a single emoji.<\/p>\n

Rule 5. Don\u2019t lie, keep promises<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Lying is bad. It\u2019s not going to do any good for you or your customers. If you want to be seen as a business that clients can rely on – you can\u2019t lie or not deliver on promises. And if you say that you are going to announce the results on Friday, they have to be announced on Friday. Even if something horrible has happened. Just make sure to only make promises that you know you can keep.<\/p>\n
